Kosovo's Hydromethorological Institute has announced that low intensity rainfalls that have begun during yesterday, in the western and southern part, will gradually include most of the country, where, as a result today, in some localised areas rapid flows may appear.
According to the institute, the most charged situation is to be in the western part of the country, mainly in river systems, Klina, Istog River, Drin White (upstream), Peja Bistrica, Decani, Erenik, and east of the Morava basin.
From these initial meteorological projections of rainfall and then hydrological, with short-term flooding potential from rain plus melting snow from high mountain areas (until the new snow begins to fall), local problems are especially possible to slide and collapse. The Western part: The probability of overcoming a threshold of the 5-year flood returns is around 30 % and 20 years old: 3 %. - Northern Part: Probability to exceed a threshold of the 5-year flood returns period: 41 % and 20 years old: 27 %”, the report said.
