Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has estimated that the February 27th meeting in Brussels, between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, with the mediation of top EU officials and support of the United States, marks a positive moment in the dialogue process for normalising relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

According to him, Osmani has stressed that with this agreement, even some light proposals have been accepted yesterday, related to the management of the Serb minority in Kosovo and the regulation of the Serbian Orthodox Church's judicial status.

“The president of the Republic of Kosovo estimates that if the agreement is implemented in a stem way, it would define important principles for relations between the parties, setting them equal, with mutual respect and in line with the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, including the principle of respect for territorial integrity.

The text of the agreement does not fully clarify the implications of these as well as some other issues that need to be clarified necessarily before the Implementation Plan is finalised. President Osmani stresses that any result of the dialogue should maintain Kosovo's territorial integrity, sovereignty and internal functionality”, Kupina has said.

Kupina has added that President Osmani has repeatedly said as President Biden has underlined, that the process of dialogue should be concluded with mutual recognition, towards the European Plan could help achieve that goal.

“The president considers that the final word about this agreement should say the Kosovo Parliament, since it affects the previous constitutional category in Article 18 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo”, Kupina said.
