On the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has expressed confidence in Ukraine's victory, while saying that their “fight is our fight”.

“Triumfi of democracy, justice and freedom in Ukraine will be a victory for democracies everywhere”, Osmani wrote on the social network Twitter.

This war has united the democratic world, but it has, above all, proved that the spirit of the Ukrainian people is invincible. As Kosovo citizens know very well, brutality and aggression cannot prevent a people's will to be free”, Osman's statement said.

Among other things, Osmani has added that Kosovo will always stand alongside the world's democracies in the face of <x0mirani and hegemony”.

Because we know their war is our war and that the triumph of democracy, justice and freedom in Ukraine will be victory for democracies everywhere in the world”, Osman's statement said.

Since the beginning of the war, Russia has faced sanctions by Western states that have supported Ukraine financially and militarily.

Similarly, Kosovo has joined Western countries in condemning and imposing sanctions on Russia.

In addition to joining the US and the EU in imposing sanctions on Russia, Kosovo has also sheltered several Ukrainian journalists after the launch of Ukraine's Russian invasion on February 24th, 2022.

The first anniversary of the war in Ukraine is also marked at a solemn session held in Pristina's Municipal Assembly, attended by US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, and EU Ambassador to Kosovo Thomas Sznunyuyog.

In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, causing a serious international crisis. Now, a year later, many questions remain unanswered: How has the situation changed in Ukraine and the region, how are other countries reacting, and what is the future prospects?

Ukrainian President Zelensky has given a speech on the anniversary of Russian aggression in Ukraine. “Ves pain, grief, trust and unity. The year of our irrefuence”, Zelensky has indicated. While, he has thanked all who helped Ukraine this year to resist the Russian attack.
