Oil fell for 55 cents, food products only 9 cents, Berjani: Don't abuse citizen basket

Berjan in an answer to Gazeta Inseder has said that currently a litre of oil today is 1 euro and 25 cents, while gasoline liters are 1 euro and 30 cents.

According to him, the prices of derivatives in Kosovo for two months have dropped by 55 cents.

“Normation of the market, according to the OPEC production organisation, is expected to be the end of March. There is a drop in the price in Berza and international markets, and that is reflecting on Kosovo as well. For two months we've been down the price loss for 55 cents”, Berryan said.

He added that the price of derivatives in Kosovo is cheaper compared to other countries in the region.

The price of derivatives has dropped markedly on the Kosovo market. Today in Albania a litre of diesel is 1.75 cents, while a litre of gasoline is 1.78 cents, while in Serbia a litre of diesel is 1.65 cents and gasoline 1.68 cent”, Berjan told Inseder.

On the other hand, the chairman of the Oil Association has said that there is already no reason not to lower prices, since oil has seen decline.

How low have food prices been in Kosovo?

Kosovo's Statistics Agency has published the latest report on the price movements of basic articles within the week.

Among the basic articles, only food oil has seen a slight decline in prices.

Food oil has scored for 9 cents. Out of 2.03 euros on February 18th has now fallen to 1.93 euros.

However, the prices of other basic articles have not changed at all.

Months ago in the wave of price hikes, the price of food oil in Kosovo had reached nearly 4 euros.
