LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has said his subject will boycott public television following the appointment of Rylind Gervala at the helm of the RTK Board.
The drill has had close ties with the ruling VV party in the past, and its appointment has prompted reactions from both opposition and civil society.
Abdixhiku, on the T7 Pressing show, has said his subject will boycott RTK and complain at foreign embassies and civil society organisations operating in Kosovo about the public radio television appointments.
“We have a party militant, ideologically heavily charged to the top of public television and no one says anything. We can't stand doing nothing. The LDK will boycott this television. We'll make a decision together with the deputies and the Mayor to boycott this television. I invite opposition parties and civil societies to join us. We'll leave public television to power. And I'm going to write to each ambassador in Kosovo and the entire international organization that this television is of power. We haven't made this whole commitment in years. A public institution by power cannot be seized”, he said.
Kosovo Radio Television Board (RTK) has chosen Vetevendosje Movement activist Riley Gervalli director for Albanian channels (1.3 and 4) on Tuesday.
The drill has photos inside the VV office along with activists of this subject and has also attended meetings within this ruling party.
His appointment has sparked reactions from the entire opposition spectrum.
