The Vranje Court has condemned the chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presevo Valley, Ragmi Mustaf, as well as the institution it heads, for wrongdoing, following the establishment of Albania's national flag on November 28th last year, in honour of Albania's Independence Day.
Mustafi said this is the third time he and the institution he runs receive such sentences.
For the third time in a row, I accepted the sentence from the Vranje Court in my name, as a physical person and the Albanian National Council as an institution, for the establishment of the Albanian national flag at the headquarters of the Albanian National Council on November 28, 2021. During the four-year term, 5 times I have accepted indictments by the Vranje Court for the establishment of the Albanian national flag, where 3 times I am being punished for that reason”, Mustaf wrote on Facebook.
He said it is strange how this decision came on the same day that the first anniversary of Kosovo's Independence was officially celebrated in Belgrade.
At the same time, Mustaf said these sentences would not stop giving up national symbols.
There's no number of punishments that you can and will stop giving up national symbols and our national flag. As we have repeatedly said, it is not us who have to change the flag, it is the state that has to change the discriminatory law by which it prohibits the free use of our national symbols!
