Muharrem in Linkedin, has said that Article or 7 of the EU proposal provides more autonomy than the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
He explains that the 7th points give rights only to Serbs, and not to other communities that are envisioned with association.
The professor hopes the government knows what it's accepting.
Robert Muharrem was also engaged in the group of experts who would support Kurti Government delegation in the dialogue process with Serbia.
Otherwise, last night the European Union has officially published the EU proposal, or known as the French-German plan.
There are 11 articles in it, which have been approved today only blindly since the Kosovo and Serbian parties have not signed the EU proposal.
Article 7 of the plan “Agreement on the road to normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia” proposed by the European Union says that, in line with relevant instruments of the Council of Europe, the parties will provide a level of self-management for the Serb community in Kosovo in several areas. This includes the possibility of financial assistance from Serbia.
This article also requires that the parties formalise the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and provide protection for Serb religious and cultural heritage sites.
Article 7
Both sides commit to creating specific agreements and guarantees, in line with relevant instruments of the Council of Europe and relying on existing European experiences to ensure a proper level of self-management for the Serb community in Kosovo and the capacity to provide services in specific areas, including financial support from Serbia and a direct channel of communication for the Serb community with the Government of Kosovo.
The sides will formalise the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and offer strong level of protection for Serbian religious and cultural heritage sites, in line with existing European models.
