In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, free Europe say they have managed to identify and contact three families from Kosovo, as well as a team of Kosovo wrestlers who have been standing in an earthquake-hit area on the morning of February 6th.
“With citizens who were there at the time of the earthquake, the embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Ankara is in communication and ready to help return to Kosovo, or in any other form”, the MPJD said, without providing more details.
The REL spoke the previous day with Kosovo Federation Secretary Genci Fazlia, who along with a team of wrestlers was in the town of Kahramanmaratra in Turkey when the earthquake struck.
All the objects around us were destroyed, only our object remained standing, that hotel where we were located. We've been in danger. Objects were dropped. Two buildings out of 20 floors collapsed next to us here”
We've got people out of the rubble as long as we could, until we got all wet once, because it was snow and rain and we had to get out of”, Fazlia said.
