Momentum for new integrations and recognitions, opposition position with different positions

Although the Russian combat conflict against Ukraine and particularly Kosovo's position against Russian invasion was seen as a good opportunity for Kosovo's integration journey, opposition MPs are considering that the Kosovo Government has not exploited this moment, either for membership in international organisations, but also for new recognitions, especially from the five non-recognising countries of the European Union. However, they say otherwise from the majority.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Rzazarta Krasniqi stresses that Kosovo has not used this moment to gain new recognitions.
“This is the right moment, but I don't think our government has been exploiting it for two years now we haven't had any recognition and no application in international organizations and application to the Council of Europe, you've seen that it was removed from the agenda by the friendly states of Kosovo, such as France, Germany and Great Britain, it has been disturbing to us because it had to be before the government applied to talk to the friendly states of the country... It has been estimated that we now know Russia is not a member of the Council of Europe and all have been for, but this moment has not been exploited, it is disturbing because integration processes are only being delayed taking time for the benefits that must come for two years government that Kurti” has made, Krasniqi says.
Thinking the same as Krasniqi shares the Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy Elmi Recica, who says that if he had been a prime minister or another president, Kosovo would have achieved results on key integration issues.
The current government has failed to take advantage of this situation at all because Serbia has been dual in some form has not fully solidified with the state of Ukraine, while not imposing sanctions on Russia and on the other hand our government has failed to exploit this very convenient situation. I think that if there had been another prime minister, another president would without question that key issues of important processes for Kosovo would have been resolved. I don't just think about technical issues, visa liberalisation and other issues, there has been a very important moment for Kosovo to be part of the Partnership for Peace for Kosovo to advance into the European agenda, and a form of engagement I don't say of pressure for the recognition of five countries that have not yet recognised Kosovo... This government, this prime minister and neither does this president have the idea of what is necessary to use and make good use of these events and developments as has been aggression in an independent state as Ukraine has been, the MP says. PDK.
And although there are criticisms from the opposition, they differ from the ruling party.
Vetevendosje Movement MP Agon Batusha says Kosovo has used every moment to advance its EU integration path.
He emphasises that Kosovo's own position towards Ukraine has enabled the EU, whether for visa liberalisation or even for the Berlin process.
“Only positioning has been one of the reasons our allies see us and the democratic world sees us with a good eye as the Republic, which is guided by the democratic values of protecting states. Visa liberalisation, for example, has met the criteria and we have been blocked in the political procedure, and I can say that immediately the EU has been retensive after the war in Ukraine, so there are some speedier steps in the Berlin process and visa liberalisation as well as the government's rapid steps to fulfil or apply for candidate status for the European Union... Kosovo has taken advantage of every opportunity, given not only the situation in Ukraine, but also the results within Kosovo, as in terms of freedom of media of domestic democracy, in fighting corruption, order and law, also”, Batusha says.
On February 24th, it has been 1 year since Russian aggression against Ukraine, which Kosovo has condemned by imposing sanctions. In addition to sanctions, Kosovo has sheltered several Ukrainian journalists.
Otherwise, on May 12th of last year, Kosovo has applied to the Council of Europe. And on December 15th, that same year, our country has applied for EU membership. In addition, state leaders have repeatedly stressed the need for NATO membership. They have even stressed that they are making preparations for application for membership in the NATO alliance's Partnership for Peace programme. /Kosovo priss
