Croatian President Zoran Milanovic has tried to explain the statement that prompted numerous reactions, where he said the country leading it along with the “internationals ousted Kosovo from Serbia”. Milanovic said this is a fact because Belgrade has not agreed. Serbia was left without Kosovo, did not volunteer, lost to war”, Milanovic said.
“I could have said differently, that Serbia is left without Kosovo or that Kosovo is expelled from Serbia, but I assume we all agree that Kosovo was part of Serbia”, Milanovic said, adding that he does not have to convince anyone of his commitment to Kosovo Albanians.
He also said he always calls on representatives of countries that have not recognised Kosovo to do so.
Croatian head of state also declared “Serbia will have to recognise Kosovo” in a way, media reports in Zagreb.
He said Belgrade must understand it will come out of “Serbian-ruse background” as a deceitful lover.
During a joint media conference with the new Slovenian president, Natasa Pirc Musar, Milanovic stressed that in Serbia certain things must be changed “so that she can come west where she is welcome “”, writes Index.hr, broadcast Klaankosova.tv.
“Situata in Ukraine is the beginning of the end of an apparent Serbian-Russian romance, in which Serbia will realise it is a cheated lover”, the Croatian president said, adding that Serbia and the Kosovo issue “worry Russia”.
“Russia is trying something with Ukraine, and Kosovo's example turns out to be a thorn in the eye. Russia will have to recognise Kosovo at some point or pretend to recognise it in order to legalise what it is doing in Ukraine. This is reality”, Milanovic declared.
He said that “does not have love” between Belgrade and Moscow, but is about the interest in which Serbia serves Russia.
