In his address to the media, Selmanaj has said situations such as Berisha's are not tolerated.
“Bashka with my colleague Besian Mustafa surrendered to the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Prosecutor's Prosecutor's Prosecution or to say criminal speculation about the incorrect and untrue testimony that Mr. Martin Berishaj, Ambassador Martin Berisha, has done before this Commission on November 17th when it was interviewed in the Hetimor Commission. Therefore, in order to protect the dignity of the Kosovo Assembly, to protect the dignity of this republic we cannot tolerate the situation when an ambassador comes and a witness comes and lies before the Commission, did not tell the truths despite having been informed of the legal and criminal consequences it could have”, Selmanaj said.
At the Kosovo Parliamentary Commission's session on Thursday, Selmanaj has said he will make it in the quality of the Energy Crisis Management Commission chairman, as he put it, Berisha lied during the commission report.
What is this zeal to protect Martin Berisha when he lied on the commission. He lied to us. Therefore, I in the quality of the chairman of this commission have the obligation, even as a political party we have discussed, to prosecute criminal speculation about this person tomorrow, in the quality of the parliamentary commission's chairman, because lies cannot pass”, Selmanaj said on Thursday.
Although his dismissal was requested, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore Donika Grovalla had declared Berisha's dismissal cannot be done without any actual reason.
The ambassador is not downloaded because of media speculation when there are actual reasons. Until right now I have no single official information that such violations have occurred”, Gervala had declared.
Otherwise, on April 22nd, the Kosovo Presidency had requested a written report by Ambassador Berishaaj, on media claims of his involvement in a major financial scandal as sexist for Robert Golob, the Slovenian politician.
This scandal was reported by Slovenia's “Planet TV”, where according to this medium, the private consulting company in Montenegro, “M B Consulting”, Berisha's, was being investigated internationally due to money transfers from the Serbian branch of the Slovenian energy supplier (GEN-I).
“MM Consulting” had attracted cash cash at nearly 600 thousand euros, which it had later carried to Slovenian politician.
Meanwhile, Berisha had denied these reports, at the same time had warned of a media indictment in question.
While at the media conference, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani had come to the defense of Berisha, saying “we believe his words until there is something concrete from the justice institutions”, but the President's Office has confirmed that it has invited Ambassador Berishaj to Kosovo to clarify the situation.
