Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, will hold today's summit in Brussels under the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia relieved by the European Union.
Today he will travel to Brussels to meet with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, as well as both leaders, face a previously split meeting with European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security High Representative Josep Borrell.
European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security High Representative Josep Borrell is expected to meet with Prime Minister Kurti at 1500.
While at 16:15, Borrell is expected to hold meetings with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
After separate meetings at 17:15, Josep Borrell is expected to hold a joint meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
Kurti has all the time declared that the agreement with Serbia would have recognition in the centre and that otherwise it would not discuss with Serbia. But what has been said so far this only agreement on recognition will not have, at least not recognition, at least, no recognition of the new one.
All that has been said on the agenda of February 27th is that the focus of the meeting will be on the European Union's proposal for normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
While the EU's Emisari, Miroslav Lajcak, has said he expects the two sides to eventually declare themselves in favour of this proposal Monday.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received a joint letter from France's President Emmanuel Macron, Germany's Chancellor, Olaf Scholz and Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on tomorrow's meeting in Brussels and the European proposal.
In the communiqué issued by ZKM, they have reportedly welcomed Prime Minister Kurti's public statements regarding the European proposal.
Vice President Macron, Chancellor Scholz and Prime Minister Melon have voiced conviction that the conclusion and implementation of the European proposal is of crucial importance for the general benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for the peace and the prosperous development of the region, and for the progress of the country's <x1nd> European perspective, the prime minister's office has announced.
All Kurti has said in the Kosovo Parliament is that the European Proposal has been viewed as a good basis, while among the characteristics he mentioned was that the proposal is based on the model of the two Germanys' agreement, that it included lifting Serbia from blocking Kosovo's membership and that the agreements reached so far must be implemented.
He has also hinted that he will accept this proposal, as in his opinion Kosovo would enter into a confrontation with Western states and that it will face consequences such as diplomatic penalties, etc.
The proposal included the Kosovo Government's comments, but in January, according to Prime Minister Kurti, it was offered in the format “mer or permission” until it was also disclosed to the punitive measures if it does not accept it.
Their position was that the entire diplomatic and political tool of states where the emissaries came from has come to support Kosovo's membership in international organisations, and one cannot be expected a no from Kosovo because we would enter a path of confrontation with them. They also made it clear to me that any rejection of the proposal will be accompanied by controversial steps and diplomatic penalties for Kosovo and will create a serious weakening of trust between us and their states”, Kurti has said in the Assembly.
Otherwise, the European Service for Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Wednesday has published the agenda for the February 27th meeting, with what has become known that Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet separately with the European envoy for Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, starting at 15:00, then having a joint meeting.
