Kurti said that with Erdogan they talked about developments in the region and beyond, while adding that they are grateful for Turkey's role in the NATO intervention in Kosovo during 1999.
“We are always grateful for Turkey's role in the intervention of NATO in Kosovo in 1999, for halting genocide over the people of Kosovo, which brought freedom and peace to the country, for its unsuccessful contribution to institution building, announcement and recognition of our independence, and for Turkey's incomplete and unhurt support of foreign policy”.
“I thanked President Erdogan for Turkey's support for Kosovo's NATO membership and in the KiE. In NATO our orientation and in KiE values unite. Both of us are united by the critical moment that Europe is going through”, Kurti has indicated.
On the other hand, he said one of the main goals of Kosovo government is to create a favourable environment to attract foreign investors so that, according to Kurti, a stable economy can be created.
“Turkey is one of our main economic and trade partners. That makes us happy but not enough. Let's use the currentity of co-operation to achieve its great potential”, Kurti said.
Next, Kurti also spoke to the Turkish community in Kosovo and the Albanian community in Turkey, where he said the Turkish community in Kosovo has played a positive and important role in Kosovo's modern history.
The Turkish “community is an integral part of our rich social and cultural mosaic. Today, representatives of this community are everywhere in central and local institutions, making their contribution to a better Kosovo and the highest prosperity”.
On the other hand, Turkish citizens of origin from Kosovo have also played a special role with their contribution throughout Turkey's history. They are still an exemplary and successful community in Turkey”, Kurti has indicated.
On the other hand, the head of the government said the Turkish community in Kosovo and the Albanian community in Turkey are the powerful bridge of connection between the two states.
“Base is good, strong ties, great will, so lets engage for more opportunities, more co-operation and more exchange”, Kurti said.
