Chairman PDK has spoken about Monday's meeting, to be held in Brussels between Prime Minister Kurti and President Vuciq, writes Periscopi.
According to the first PDK on February 27th, there will be no comprehensive final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition in the centre, but it is a meeting for Association.
Despite Monday's meeting, the government, already publicly, has accepted the plan proposed by the European Union. However, from what has been seen so far, the plan itself contains almost no concrete benefit for Kosovo. It is not about recognition by the five non-recognising EU countries, it is not about opening the road towards NATO membership, nor about obtaining EU membership candidate status, while mutual recognition is out of the question “, Krasniqi has written among other things.
His full post:
On Monday, in Brussels, there will be no comprehensive final agreements between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition in the centre. Rather, February 27th of this year will mark the beginning of a new phase of the dialogue process, where mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia will no longer be a topic of discussion.
This new phase is the direct result of two years of mismanagement of dialogue by Government Kurti.
Despite Monday's meeting, the government, already publicly, has accepted the plan proposed by the European Union. However, from what has been seen so far, the plan itself contains almost no concrete benefit for Kosovo. It is not about recognition by the five non-recognising EU nations, nor about opening the road towards NATO membership, nor about obtaining candidate status for EU membership, while mutual recognition is out of the question.
Furthermore, by public statements by international officials, it is clear that the focus is not on achieving high-profile targets, but is on forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
So Monday's meeting is a date for Association, not recognition. Because, the government, with its inability, has degraded dialogue from achieving the goal of the central recognition final agreement to transitional agreements with the central association.
