Debt, Year after year it is marking growth.
Exactly 1 billion of the 750m euros has been the value of the Republic of Kosovo's total debt.
This amount is counted in the annual report on the total debt 2022, which Periscope has seen.
Out of the estimated 1.7 billion euros, the domestic debt is higher than the external one. 1 billion of 112m euros is domestic, while 682m external.
But how much did debt increase in the last five years?
In 2017 the total debt was 996m euros, of this amount being 575 million domestics and 422m abroad.
In 2018, the debt was 1 billion of 093m euros.
At v2019 it was 1 billion of 201m euros.
In 2020, the total debt was 1 billion and 487m euros.
The overall debt is the total of state and municipal debt. This debt is taken on behalf of central government institutions, which the Republic of Kosovo is obliged to pay.
Under the Law on Public Debt, in no case the unpaid total debt should exceed 40 percent of Bruto Product (BPV).
If the overall debt exceeds this percentage of the local Bruto Product, then the government should present the Parliament the strategy to return the total debt below the 40 percent threshold. But this percentage is smaller. /Periscopi/
