During the defence grant, Berisha has said Thursday that the gun was left in the apartment by his brother, Sami Berisha, without preliminary notice, reports “Justice Trust”.
The suspended judge is charged with accepting 2 thousand euros in bribes to impose favourable sentences on the accused for “smuggling with migrants”, Muhamet Zekij, and is charged with possession of the gun without permission.

Berisha has said he could easily even get gun permits, but did not seem necessary because he had not felt endangered.
He said he wasn't present in his apartment when he was raided by the police.
Berisha has said she had not appointed the detention measure to Muhamet Zekaj after prosecutor Valbona Dishaj-Hashoja had only mentioned the legal basis of Zekiaj's escape opportunity at the time.
He has said the accused Zekiaj had filed several papers for his state of health and a three thousand-euro bail not to be pronounced the detention measure.
The accused Berisha has said he had mostly rejected proposals for the appointment of detentions at the time compared to other judges, and that Muhamet Zekaj's case does not constitute a unique case. He has said that most decisions for refusing to appoint detention measures had been approved by the second-degree court.
He said that the accused Muhamet Zakariya did not recognise him until his hearing, as he said he did not know his brother, Florim Zakariya. Berisha has said he has never asked to meet with the accused's brother through the now-dead lawyer, O.B.
With the completion of his work schedule, the chairman of the court put off this session by assigning the following February 9 of this year.
On June 9th 2021, the Special Department of the Foundation Court in Pristina has confirmed the indictment filed by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) had confirmed the indictment for corruption to Sali Berisha.
August 16th 2021, the Court of Appeals had confirmed the indictment against Judge Sali Berisha over charges of receiving 2 thousand euros in bribes and possession without gun permission with ten rounds.
On May 6th 2022, the trial against Berisha had recently begun due to the change of a court member.
According to the indictment, established on February 5, 2020, Judge Sali Berisha, on September 19, 2019, had met witness Florim Zekiaj, who had accepted the amount of 2 thousand euros, and who had agreed in a case in which, in a case for two criminal acts “smuggling with migrants<1> was charged with Muhamet Zeqaj, witness brother Florim Zeqaj, defendant Berisha, as chairman of the panel, to pronounce favourable sentence, where he had declared sentence of three years, on condition that he did not commit otherwise.
In addition, Judge Berisha is charging that until September 19th, 2019, he has held without permission a type pistol “Za Mini”, 8mm calibre, along with 10 rounds, which was seized on the case of the raid on his apartment in Pec.
Otherwise, the Kosovo Judiciary Council (KGJK), at an extraordinary meeting on September 20, 2019, had suspended Judge Sali Berisha following his arrest, under suspicion of involvement in criminal acts of corruption.
