Citizens of the Western Balkans can enter Albania only with ID cards.

Interior Minister Bledi Cuci communicated this decision that went into effect during the Council of Ministers conference.

Chuchi: Two decisions have been made, for boosting security in the region and creating the conveniences of moving to the Western Balkans. With the decision coming into force, all citizens of the Western Balkans can come to Albania only with identity documents. This is in the spirit of the Berlin and the Open Balkans initiative. As far as security is concerned, it concerns the agreement signed with Northern Macedonia's task force. This brings us even closer to our neighbour North Macedonia, only last year we had 20 of these, with Northern Macedonia we create legal information for co-operation of this nature.
