Gates said he doesn't view spending money on the next planet as a good idea.
It's very expensive actually to get to Mars. With that money you can buy measles vaccines and save your life”, Gates is saying.
The other billionaire, Elon Musk, has said he wants to consolidate Mars, while billionaire Jeff Bezos has also joined “gart of space”.
SpaceX, Musk's co-founded missile company in 2002, has made the ultimate goal of sending crew flights to Mars and eventually colonising the Red Planet.
Meanwhile, Bezo, the founder of the Amazon, made a short space trip in 2021 on the first flight of his rocket ship, Nee Shepard. He also runs the airspace company “Blue Origin”.
Another businessman interested in space travel is British tycoon Sir Richard Branson, who founded Virgin Galactic in 2004. In 2021 he also reached the edge of space with his rocket plane, Virginia Galactic.
Gates, Microsoft's cofounder, also believes artificial intelligence will transform humanity “quite dramatically”.
This will help us to examine medical and scientific matters. They are not only robots, but they also help read and write. In fact, there was more progress there than there was on the robotic side. Both will give us much higher productivity”, he says.
