A meeting of the Group's 20 most industrialized countries' finance chiefs has ended on Saturday without consensus, as Russia and China have rejected the description of war in Ukraine in the final document.
Following the meeting, organised by India, a summary has been released in which there is no mention that there is no agreement on the definition of war in Ukraine.
The first day of the meeting was held on February 24th, when the first anniversary of the Russian invasion in Ukraine was marked.
The group of seven most industrialized states (G7) has adopted new sanctions against Russia on Friday, as G20 talks are wrapped up in confusion.
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has condemned the illegal war against Ukraine”, in a session where Russian officials participated and called on the G20 to do more to support Ukraine.
At the latest G20 meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, leaders have strongly condemned war and warned that the conflict is increasing fragility in the world economy.
Russia is part of this group, but also countries like China and India, which have important trade agreements with Moscow.
The war in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022.
