Even further, the frightening rise in demand for compensation of slight damage caused in the traffic accident continues, both in the insurance companies and the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS). Certain individuals who are also known for the law enforcement agencies, with the aim of material gain, are suspected to continue to insist on slight communication accidents, where damaged insurance companies remain, but also the Kosovar Security Bureau. The director of the Kosovar Bureau of Security, Sami Mazrek, has said that the phenomenon of light damage has become a serious problem which in large measure harms insurance companies, but also the Kosovo Security Bureau by irresponsible persons who continue to try to capitalise on illegal accidents throughout the country. “We constantly have increased demand for slight damage compensation. We've already identified people and notified law agencies. The bull that's caused us continues to be very large”, the director said.

12,944 single-year requests the 2022 

Based on official data, it is seen that during the course of 2022 alone, the number of requirements for compensating light damages, in insurance companies as well as in the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) has been 12,944. Of this figure, 2,257 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS), while 10,687 has been the number of requirements for compensation of light damages in all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo. In relation to the same period of the preliminary year, it is seen that 11,97 %s has increased the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as to the Kosovar Security Bureau during 2022, in proportion to the same period of the year before. If we make a split, it is seen that 14.67% has increased the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies during 2022 in proportion to the same period of the preliminary year, until 1,2 %s has dropped the demand for compensation of light damages to the Kosovo Security Bureau during 2022 in proportion to the same period of the year before.

41,70 % increase in compensation requirements during 2021 

It always referred to official BKS data that in 2021, the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as at the Kosovo Security Bureau, has been 11,604. Of this figure 2,285 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages at the Kosovar Security Bureau, until 9,319 has been the number of requirements for compensation of light damages to all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo. If we make a comparison to the previous year, it appears that 41,70 %s has increased the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as to the Kosovar Security Bureau during 2021, in proportion to the same period in the preceding year. If we look at the data from security companies and BKS, then it turns out that 42,95 %s has increased the number of requirements for compensating light damage to insurance companies during 2021 in proportion to the same period in advance. 40,27 % has dropped demand for slight damage compensation at the Kosovo Security Bureau during 2021, in proportion to the same period in the preceding year.

8,189 requirements for damages compensation were in 2022

In 2022 the number of requirements for compensation for minor damage caused by traffic accidents was 8,189. According to statistics provided by BKS, it is evident that 1,629 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages at the Kosovar Bureau of Security, while 6,560 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages to all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo. In a report to the preceding year, 10,19, %s has declined to compensate for slight damages to insurance companies, as well as to the Kosovo Security Bureau during 2020. As for the security companies, it is seen that 8,11 % has dropped the demand for compensation of light damages, while in terms of the Kosovar Bureau of Security it is seen that 17,27 % has declined for the compensation of light damages at the Kosovar Security Bureau during 2020 in proportion to the same period of the year.

32,12 % increase in compensation requirements during 2019 

In 2019, referring to official statistics, it is seen that 9,119 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as the Kosovar Security Bureau. Out of this figure 1,980 has been the number of requirements for compensation for light damages at the Kosovar Security Bureau. While 7,139 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages in all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo. According to data that the BKS is available, it is seen that 8.30 %s has dropped the demand for compensation of light damages to insurance companies as well as to the Kosovar Security Bureau during 2019, in proportion to the same period in the preliminary year. As for insurance companies 32,12 % dropped demand for light damages compensation in insurance companies during 2019, in proportion to the same period of the year, while in terms of BKS 9,96 % has declined for damages compensation.

9,946 requests for 2018

According to official data from the Kosovo Bureau of Security, 9,946 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only during 2018. Of this figure 2,017 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages to the Kosovo Bureau of Security, while 7,929 has been the number of requirements for lower damages compensation in all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo. 1,04 %a has declined to compensate light damages to insurance companies as well as the Kosovar Security Bureau during 2018 in proportion to the same period of the year before. As for insurance companies 1,14 %a has dropped the demand for exchange of light damages, 0.06 %a has dropped the demand for slight damages compensation at the Kosovar Security Bureau.

If we look at the separate data of companies and BKS, then it turns out that 26,52 % has increased the number of requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies during 2013 in proportion to the same period of the preceding year, until 17,97 % has increased the number of requirements for compensating light insurance companies during 2013 in proportion to the same period of the year. Also 6,843 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damage to insurance companies, as well as to the Kosovo Security Bureau (BKS) during 2012. Of this number 1,558 has been the number of requirements for slight damage compensation at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only during 2012, while 5,285 has been the number of requirements for compensating light damages to all insurance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Kosovo in 2012.

Over 142m euros in demand for compensation of light damage 

Over 142m euros have been the requirements for compensating light damage to insurance companies, but also the Kosovar Security Bureau during the period 2012-2022. A file with names of persons suspected of accident installations only to profit materially has been handed over to law enforcement. 

Major sums of money continue to be spent on insurance companies, but also on the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only to compensate for the slight damage caused in communications accidents. Despite the major involvement of the Kosovo Police in recent years, a phenomenon of increased accidents with minor damage is seen, as there are already suspicions based on irresponsible persons insinuating accidents only for profit purposes. A file with the names of persons suspected of accidents in order to profit materially has been handed over to law enforcement agencies, but so far has not received any epilogue. According to BKS official data, it is seen that in 2022, 14,766,016 euros have been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only during 2022. Of this amount, 5,319,444 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to the Kosovo Bureau of Security, until 9,446,572 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to all insurance companies licensed by the Kosovo Central Bank. Also in 2021, 12,653,265 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as the Kosovar Security Bureau. Seen separately, 4,522,044 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damage to the Kosovo Bureau of Security, while 8,131,221 has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to all insurance companies. Also, referring to official data, it is seen that in 2020, 10,323,100 euros have been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies as well as the Kosovar Security Bureau. Of this value of 3,973,671 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to the Kosovo Bureau of Security, until 6,349,429 has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to all insurance companies.

12.7m euros in demand during 2019

According to official data, 12,765,494 euros have been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only during 2019. Of this amount, 4,623,890 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to the Kosovo Bureau of Security, while 8,141,604 has been the value of the requirements for compensation for light damages to all insurance companies as well as 14,488,959 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensation of minor damages to insurance companies, as well as at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) only during 2018. Seen separately, it is seen that 5,624,270 euros have been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages at the Kosovar Bureau of Security, until 8,844,689 euros has been the value of requirements for compensation of light damages to all insurance companies. Also, 13,523,335 euros has been the value of the requirements for compensating light damages to insurance companies, as well as at the Kosovar Security Bureau (BKS) during 2017 alone, where 5,077,858 euros have been the value of compensation for light damage compensation at the BKS, until 8,445,477 euros have been the value of the requirements for compensation of slight damages in all insurance companies.
