An accident in an electrical substation, already damaged by Russian attacks, has left half a million families without power in the southern Ukrainian town of Odessa, authorities said.
The governor of the Odessa region, Maksym Marchenko, described the accident as “serio”, adding that the energy minister and head of the state power operator Ukrenergo were sent to the city.
“A number of generators will be delivered to the Odessa region within the next 24 hours”, he said.
“We expect the first generators to arrive tonight”, he added.
