The European Commission has ordered workers to withdraw the TikTok app from phones and labour equipment.
The EC said it is implementing measures to protect data and increase cyber security.
TickTok, owned by the Chinese company “BydeDance”, has faced charges that he is exploiting user data and handing it over to the Chinese government, the BBC writes.
But this company insists it acts no different than other social media.
EU Industry Director Thierry Breton said at the media conference that the union executive is very focused on cyber security, without accepting further details.
This ban implies that the European Commission staff cannot use TikTok on personal equipment that has official installed applications.
The commission says there are employees about employees with regular contracts and have deadlines until March 15th to erase the app.
