Commissioner for Enlargement and Good Neighbor Oliver Varhely has indicated that the EU and Serbia have signed the agreement to build the railway network that will connect Belgrade and Nis.
Varhely said this is one of the biggest transport projects to connect Serbia with the European Union.
Meanwhile, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq said the European Union has donated Serbia a 600m-euro grant to build a piece of railway at very high speed.
This EU assistance comes only a day after Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq met in Brussels.
The topic of the discussion was the Franco-German plan, in which the parties agreed orally about this plan.
Meanwhile, a meeting with them was also announced on March 18th in northern Macedonia.
