Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan will visit the areas affected following the powerful earthquake that rocked the country, state media reports. Erdogan is expected to travel to Kahramanmaras and to the Pazarcik district in southern Turkey, according to the Anadolu Agency, Periscopi broadcast.

It is reported that the Turkish leader will then visit the southern province of Hatay.

This week, Erdogan declared a state of emergency in the 10 provinces following a quake that left more than 9,600 people dead.

Dias residents in the destroyed cities have complained that the state response has been slow and inadequate. /Periscopi/
