About the conditions Kosovo Republic Prime Minister Albin Kurti has presented today for signing the agreement for Association, the director of the Kosovo Institute for European Policy, Demush Shasha, who has dubbed them as current political improvisements and sensationalisations, and not as a truly state-run policy.
Insurance Shasha has stressed that the way these six conditions for association were introduced seems extremely similar to those 4 terms of dialogue: (1) from CEFTA to SEFTA, (2) the signing of the peace agreement and non-aggression, (3) bilate reciprocity in matters of minorities, and (4) the removal of Odalovic from the Serbian delegation. If you remember these were also presented with a dose of Improvization and sensation. As a result, today you've raised concerns that these six conditions for association will share fate with the 4 terms of dialogue that now belong to history.
His full response:
There are two things that leave bad taste for how these six conditions of Association were introduced today. First, these conditions look like current political improvisement and sensationalization, and not as really consistent state policy. So the prime minister introduces them under a current confrontation with the opposition and not as the product of a serious political process that aims to turn political principles into state politics.
If the prime minister really believes these are Kosovo's <x0-line red” then he should at meetings held with opposition leaders inform them of this position and start a confidential dialogue with the aim of exchanging the thoughts and creating the necessary inter-party consensus for <x2-line red”>
So these would have taken the final form of a platform for dialogue that would support all parties. As the prime minister has acted by throwing these six conditions from heaven into the political circus, he has only deepened divisions among the parties over the issue.
The second, the way these six conditions for association were introduced seems exceptionally similar to those 4 conditions of dialogue: (1) from CEFTA to SEFTA, (2) the signing of the peace agreement and non-regardation, (3) bilatheral reciprocity on minority issues, and (4) the departure of Odalovic from the Serbian delegation.
If you remember these were presented with a dose of empirization and sensation. As a result, today you've raised concern that these six conditions for association will share fate with the 4 terms of dialogue that now belong to history.”
