Current United owners, the Glaser family, have set a deadline for this Friday all first bids, with Bloomberg claiming investors from Qatar are preparing a close offer for the club, writes Periscope.
It is also reported that Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is helping to prepare an offer, with the Daily Mail claiming that each bid will come from a special entity for Qatar Sports Investments, which owns Paris Saint-Germain.
A UEFA regulation says the same entity cannot master, control or influence over two clubs playing in a UEFA competition. However, the above report claims that W EFA will not block an offer.
Human Rights Search and Consultation Group FairSquare wrote them UEFA, citing a study they claim to demonstrate responsibility for any Qatar consortium can prove that it is independent of Qatar's state influence.
The letter, published by The Athletic, reads: “A basic study of Qatar's political and economic system abounds the inability of a Qatar consortium to prove itself independent of state influence, and thus separate from the SPG ownership.
Freedom House's <x0); World Freedom Index classifies Qatar as a freeman, and the latest assessment is highly critical of Qatar's record of rule of law, corruption and political participation: Qatar's successor Emir holds all executive and legislative authority and ultimately controls the judiciary. ”
