Dogs won Mexican hearts when they searched the ruins of the earthquake that hit Mexico City and nearby areas in 2017, killing hundreds of people.
The most famous of them, Frieda, a Golden Retriver Labrador wearing protective glasses and boots that saved 12 people in her career, died of old age three months ago.
But some of the experienced dogs who worked alongside Frieda in 2017 are part of the team, like Ecko.
Mexico's Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard posted photos of dogs lying on the track just before departure on Twitter.
Mexico's deadliest quake occurred in 1985, when at least 5,000 people were killed in the capital and its suburbs.
