The United States considers discussing the Serb majority municipalities' association productive on 31 January.
A spokesperson for the US Embassy in Kosovo told Gazeta Express on Wednesday that another meeting is now expected to be held but this informal time to further discuss the issue.
After the productive discussion on January 31st with a wide range of actors at the US Embassy, the ambassador will call an informal meeting at his residence to facilitate further conversation”.
For this meeting, the American Embassy spokesman said that “does not have any official program or topic discussion”.
After the closed discussion organised by the American Embassy on 31 January, Ambassador Havenier said the US has made it clear that “does not support any agreement violating the Constitution of Kosovo” or that “threatens its sovereignty, independence and multiethnic character”.
“We strictly oppose the creation of an entity that resembles Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Havener has said.
The discussion at the Embassy followed statements by American officials who said that “is the time to establish association”.
Following added international pressure, Kurti has in principle accepted the European proposal for reaching the agreement on normalising relations with Serbia, but continues to hesitate to establish the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
He was not invited to discuss Association at the US Embassy, but several representatives of the Government and Presidency participated.
Then, at a Assembly session on February 2nd, Kurti has presented six conditions for establishing association.
