Marty, in an interview for the Swiss public service daily RTS, wondering how he feels, has responded, considering what is happening in the world, privileged.
“As far as police are concerned, it has taken steps to protect me, but I am disappointed and I don't understand the methods of investigating Swiss authorities in my case, I've been an investigator and I don't want to share lessons, but it seems to me that the methods used in my case aren't common”, Marty noted.
After that, threats followed, and Marty says the goal of those who threatened him was not to kill him, but to place responsibility on Albanians from Kosovo”.
When Swiss authorities already had that information, why did they not tell Serbs that they knew what was going on and were asked to fix everything at home, with the threat that a scandal would then erupt? Then my goal of killing and placing responsibility on Albanians from Kosovo would no longer make sense to”, Marty believes.
He stressed that it makes no sense only to protect the target, but it is also necessary to take measures, so he does not realize that only after eight or ten months since the threats were received, an investigation was launched and only 16 months later the “delegation was launched. Fedpol” was sent to Belgrade.
He has reiterated that he is convinced that he has had to be done discretely, through diplomatic routes, to tell Serbian authorities to let him know what was planned.
Marty has stressed that instead of such a reaction from Switzerland, he has had protection for so long. Asked whether he was afraid, or afraid of himself, he said he was a longtime investigator, which means that man should have initiative, be courageous and willing to risk.
I have the impression that more and more letters are becoming and moving, and fewer and fewer people are risking”, he said. Marty, in the face of official Tirana charges, said Albania's former prime minister called Goebbels and that no one reacted.
“Such an attack is not just an attack on Dick Marty, but on European Council rapporteurs and Albanian politician forgets to say that if Kosovo's president should resign because of the investigation, it means that investigations showed there has been war crimes”, Marty stressed.
He also said he does not bother the defence, but it is unacceptable for his family to pay the price for it.
