The 7.8-strong quake rocked southeastern Turkey in the early hours of Monday.
Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 4:17 a.m. (0117 GMT) and was centred in the province's Pazarcik district of Kahramanmaras on Monday.
At least 284 people have died in Turkey, and 440 others have been injured, according to Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktai.
At least 237 deaths were also reported in Syria, according to state media citing the health ministry. More than 500 people were also reportedly injured.
