He, through an announcement on Twitter, has said the US welcomes Kosovo's decision to accept the European proposal, known as the French-German proposal, for normalising relations with Serbia.
I spoke with Prime Minister Albin Kurti today. We welcome Kosovo's decision to accept the EU proposal for normalisation of relations with Serbia, through the EU facilitated dialogue”, Chollet wrote.
Cholle has declared that complete implementation of the proposal to secure benefits for both states is now needed.
The “now needs implementation to ensure significant benefits for both states. ”
“will support the next steps on the EU proposal. This progress is significant for Kosovo, since we support its full Euro-Atlantic integration and international organisations”, American official Chollet has written.
After a meeting in Pristina in the beginning with EU Special Representative for Dialogue Miroslav Lajca, Prime Minister Kurti had declared that Kosovo accepts the EU proposal as a good basis for further discussions.
“Good conversation with special EU representative Miroslav Lajcak at a working lunch in Pristina. We accept the European Union's proposal for normalisation of reports between Kosovo and Serbia, and consider it a good basis for further discussions, as well as a solid platform to move away”, Kurti wrote.
However, it had set six conditions for Serbia during a presentation in the Kosovo Assembly, in order to establish the Association of Serb-based municipalities, a mechanism that is also required with perseverance by Kosovo's international partners.
