The Chilean government has declared the state of disaster after a devastating heat wave caused forest fires.
Since Friday, 151 fires have been raging, of which 65 have been declared under control.
Fires broke out on more than 35,000 hectares of land and destroyed over 100 homes since they began Wednesday.
Among the victims was a fireman who lost his life after being hit by a fire truck while he was burning out the flames.
A pilot and a mechanic died while trying to fight fire after their helicopter crashed in the southern region of Arania.
The death toll included four civilians who died in the Biobio region of central Chile, which has been among the most affected by fires.
About 2,300 firefighters and 75 planes have been involved in the battle against the flames, reports DW, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
The heat wave is expected to continue with high temperatures and strong winds, making fire control more difficult.
