Business owners in a central neighbourhood in Turkey's town of Antakya have emptied their stores in a bid to stop robbers from stealing their goods.
Yuksel Uzun, the owner of an electronic store, was seen loading freight boxes, including chargers and phone boxes, in two trucks with the help of some others.
Our store is ruined. Deceiters and thieves have stolen it. They got what they could. We've got those who left” he said.
For the first few days, everyone robbed supermarkets because they needed it. I robbed a supermarket because I needed diapers for my children,” he said.
President Tayyip Erdogan has said the government will take decisive care of the robbers, noting that a state of emergency had been declared.
Earlier, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said 57 people were arrested for robbery.
