Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has declined to comment on the February 27th meeting in Brussels between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
During the signing of the 2023 IPA agreement with the head of the EU office in Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, Bislim said it is disrespectful to talk about other topics.
“is the first time we have a program IPA, dedicated entirely to a sector that is hit. Which will be distributed to citizens. It is the first time the programme is entrusted to Kosovo institutions. It's disrespect for all this work done, but it seems to me that it's unworthy to answer that question”, he said.
But unlike Bislim, the chief of the EU Office in Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, expects Kosovo and Serbia to accept the European proposal and engage in talks on how to implement that agreement.
“It is very clear that we have believed that the agreement is very important for European integration”, he said.
He also praised Kosovo for ratifying international agreements it has made yesterday.
The “is far more important that Kosovo has ratified with over 80 votes international agreements. This is an interest in moving forward. This is a very important signal. The Kosovo population is benefiting. It is a positive sign and is praised by the EU”, he said.
