US President Joe Biden has congratulated Kosovo on the 15th anniversary of independence.
In his tour sent President Vjosa Osmani, Bideni has said he welcomes the fact that Kosovo has embraced the European plan on normalisation, where it added “with the eventual goal of mutual recognition”.
“We welcome your embrace of the EU's proposal for normalisation, with the eventual goal of mutual recognition, which will help ensure a more secure and peaceful future for the people of Kosovo and Serbia”, is said among other things in the American President's wish towards counterpart Vjosa Osmani.
Furthermore, the letter says: “on behalf of the people of the United States, I send our best wishes to you and the people of Kosovo, while marking the 15th anniversary of your country's independence. Over the past few years, Kosovo and the United States have strengthened democratic institutions to equally provide good governance, rule of law and opportunity for citizens in both our countries, President Biden has said.
Among other things, President Biden has voiced support for Kosovo's integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions, as well as for dialogue with Serbia.
