The beating of “xhemat”, closes the mosque at Halabak in Podujevo, KBI: We are talking about unity, forgiveness, and understanding!

The mosque in the village of Halabak of Podujevo has been provisionally closed, following a clash between two sides, who were pro and against the new hoja in the village, which was appointed by the Kosovo Islamic Community.

“As a result of straining the situation, this mosque is temporarily closed, until another decision on the part of KBI Podujevo. The decision is issued after the co-ordination of the BIRK”, says the Podujevo Islamic Community Council's decision, located at the main mosque door.

The decision requires that the prayer forgiveness temporarily be made at other mosques around it.

“We expect unity, forgiveness and understanding!”, the decision ends.

Hoxha, appointed by the Kosovo Islamic Community for the first time to perform religious rituals, has tried to be hampered by four people, after they disagreed with BIK-appointed imam. The same men have attempted to attack the hoja, but the latter has been protected by three others, one who attacked one of the four people who tried to prevent the hoja by causing bodily injury.

The group of three people who defended the Hoja are on the run, while a pistol seal has been found at the suspect's house.
