A senior US State Department official announced that Secretary Blinken will travel to China “when conditions for such a thing” are allowed.
Beijing has admitted that the balloon belonged to him, but he said she was out of course because of strong winds.
“Balona is from China. It is used for research, mainly for meteorological purposes”, was said in the statement of a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman.
“Kina regrets this unintentional violation of US airspace”, it was said in the statement.
