More than 7m euros has been spent in the Kosovo Assembly during 2022. This amount has gone for salaries, hires, goods and other services, the Online Economy reports.
Kosovo Assembly Secretary-General Ismet Krasniqi has made this known Monday as he reported to the Commission for Business, Labour and Transfers, in which the Framework Report for 2022 was reviewed.
Krasniqi said of salaries, wages, goods, services and several other categories of Parliament for 2022 has spent over 7m euros, while more than 3.3m euros are for MPs' salaries.
While MPs received criticism over the failure to function digitised vote in the Parliament
Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Mergim Lushtaku requested explanations from the Parliament administration for several capital projects about the digitalisation of the Parliament.
The section of the vote has not been functioning for three years”, Lushtaku said.
While Krasniqi said they expect to start this year with the offer to provide equipment for plenary sessions.
And Chairman of this Commission Armend Muja asked when capital projects are expected to be implemented in the Parliament.
The money for salaries, for deputy salaries in one year amounts to 3.3m euros, but then you say it's the rest of the salaries for the Assembly administration, out of all of the MP's spending is not just that, but part of it goes. The annual spending of 120 deputies is what. As for capital projects when their implementation is expected, we need it in the shortest term”, he said.
Kryeziu said the equipment project is ready, but given the procedures it is going through, he could postpone its implementation by 2023.
The device project is available. But considering it takes 40 days to be open... This made it impossible for this project to be realised by 2023”, he said.
MP Muja has asked Parliamentary Secretary of State about a vehicle purchased in 2005 that has never been brought to Kosovo once.
“was bought an armoured car in 2005 by Shefka Shasivari, worth 300 thousand euros and has not brought it to Kosovo, and since 2008 it has left Kosovo,” said Muja.
And for that very reason, Krasniqi said that for this case, the Court is being taken. He added that Shasivar has left Kosovo and her whereabouts are unknown.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Avdullah Hoti said its criticism concerns the way money is being spent, until he said it is not acceptable that there is still no part of the digitised vote in the Assembly. According to him, the probability of wrong until the votes are counted is huge.
