Appeal at The Hague reduces Haradinaj's three-month sentence

The Court of Appeals in The Hague has narrowed the sentence for three months to the imprisonment of former OVL KLA leaders Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj. The Appeals panel has reduced the sentence from four and a half years each to four years and three months. The panel has confirmed most of the provisions of the [...] degree bias.
The Appeals panel has reduced the sentence from four and a half years each to four years and three months. The panel has confirmed most of the first degree of bias. The sentence has been reduced for only three months. The fines of 100 euros each remain in force.
Justice Board Chairman Michele Picard has said that both will remain in custody at The Hague until the transfer to the state where they will serve the sentence.
The sentence will account for the time spent in detention by September 2020.
“Annuised the four-and-a-half-year sentence for Mr. Gucati and Mr Haradinaj, and appointed, except for court dispute Ambos, a sentence equal to 4 years and three months in prison for Mr. Gucatti and 4 years and three months for Mr. Haradinaj, counting on the time spent in custody. It leaves additional punishment for Mr. Gucati and Haradinaj in force with a 100-euro fine. Decide that this court will be broken with an immediate effect. In accordance with Article 50, Article 1 and rule 166, Mr. Gucatti and Haradinaj remain in custody until the finalisation of the measures for their transfer to the state where they will face the sentence”, Justice Board Chairman Michele Picard said.
On May 18th, the Constitutional Court in The Hague of Haradinaj had sentenced them to four and a half years in prison by the Special Court. Haradinaj's shell was sentenced for publishing special documents. The documents were brought by strangers to the OVL offices during 2020.
Haradinaj's Gucati were convicted of obstructing official persons in performing official duties, intimidation during criminal procedure and violation of the secret procedure. They were acquitted of the acts of vengeance.
The court sentenced them both to 100 euros in fines.
Gucati and Haradinaj were arrested in September 2020, following suspicions that in several media conferences at O headquarters VL- The KLA in Pristina has distributed classified specialised Chambers documents, also known as the Special Court.
