Analyst: EU will not accept provisions proposed by Kurti for Association

The country's first has issued six points in the Assembly as conditions for establishing association.

The points proposed by Kurti, according to policy connoisseurs, would not be met by the EU.

Politologist Fidan Ukaj said the European Union would not accept all conditions proposed by Kurti.

According to him, some points can be accepted by the EU.

“We have heard Peter Stano's statement, who said they received the terms proposed by Kurti, but it has not been stated that they were acceptable or rejected, left to be seen. There may be points that the EU can accept. Kurti has declared that they must now accept the preconditions to start drafting association, but I think the EU will not accept all”, Ukaj told Front Online.

So does the other political connoisseur, Artan Mujarır.

Muhariri told Front Online that the request for association may be on both sides, but will not be acceptable.

He says the US and the EU will not change the actual format for association.

The Association Process is extremely complex and it is a little incredible that space will be created for the Kosovo or Serbian parties to change the current format required by the US-EU. Kosovo and Serbia may have numerous demands, but what is planned with the Franco-German plan is unlikely to change. Kosovo must achieve its maximum within this situation, but cannot impose major, non-strategic changes”, Mujarrier stressed.

These are six conditions Kurt proposed, under which the Association could be formed.

1. Association be made according to Constitution and laws in force.

2. The association cannot be monoethnic, it must change its name, there can be no public or executive power, it should serve only horizontal co-operation of municipalities, according to the constitution.

3. National minorities' rights should include the principle of reciprocity between the two states, as well as take into account European standards and models.

4. Before the association is established, illegal structures in the north will be wiped out and delivered to all illegal weapons.

5. The association is part of the final agreement and applies after mutual recognition and only after Serbia has accepted the principles of the UN charter in its Interstate reports with Kosovo.
