He has a number of privileges while in custody pending the start of the trial.
We remember that Danny Alves is in custody because of charges of raping a 23-year-old girl at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona late December last year. He is being held in Brians 2 prison pending the start of his trial after being transferred there by Brians 1 stiffer and denied parole.
Spanish sources point out that he is not going so bad there if his life is compared to that of others from his environment. Danny Alves is housed separate from other prisoners and is accompanied by four policemen when he comes in contact with them.
He's allowed to spend 100 euros a day in the prison store and spend it on energy drinks, deodorant, shampoo... Others do not have that luxury. Joan Sanz recently visited his wife.
