The government of Albania and Montenegro have closed an intergovernmental meeting in Podgorica today.
A total of nine agreements have been signed at the end of the meeting in the field of energy, defence, fishing, agriculture, education, sports and culture.
The meeting between the two prime ministers, Edi Rama and Dritan Abazovic, takes on special importance, as ministers of the two countries' governments are included to co-operate in a series of areas.
Common meeting in Montenegrin capital paves way for construction of new customs in St. Nicholas - Pilaja and a bridge over the Buna River that will bring the two countries.
A joint press conference will be held after the signing of the agreements.
Good neighbourship with Montenegro has become an excuse for co-operating earlier for road infrastructure construction, railways, protection of Albanian language, or mutual recognition of driving permits.
However, close reports, Montenegro has not yet embraced the Open Balkans initiative, where the party has so far become Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia.
