More than 35 thousand people have been confirmed dead in Turkey and Syria, following last week's powerful earthquake.
Approximately two thousand other deaths have been reported by the authority of Turkey's disaster management since 6am, which means 31 thousand and 643 people have lost their lives in the country.
In Syria, 3 000 and 553 people have been reported dead -- two thousand 166 in rebel-controlled regions, and 1,000 and 387 in areas controlled by the government, according to White Helms and state media, writes Sky News.
In total, 35 thousand and 196 people have died, this figure far higher than the World Health Organization's initial assessment of 20 thousand.
