The death toll after earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria on Monday has increased to at least 21,051, according to authorities.
In Turkey, the death toll has increased to at least 17674, and the number of wounded is 72879, Vice President Fuat Oktay wrote on Thursday.
In Syria, at least 3377 people were killed, including 2030 in areas controlled by rebels in the northwest, according to the White Helms' civil protection group and 1347 deaths in areas controlled by the Syrian government, according to Syrian state media.
The number of injured persons in Syria in all affected territories increased to 5,295 in the area controlled by the government and 2950 in the rebel-controlled area.
At least 78124 people in Syria and Turkey were injured after earthquakes, according to figures by the Turkish government, White Helmets and Syrian state media.
