Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, said on Friday that the December 17th parliamentary elections will not be held in Serb areas in Kosovo, because, as he put it, Kosovo's “prime minister, Albin Kurti, does not want Serbs to have basic rights”.
“The West means there is no way to pressure Kurt and issue a statement. There has already been a statement by European Union spokesman Peter Stano, and so much”, Vuciq said in Dubai, where he is participating in the Summit of Leaders for Climate Change, Beta reports.
He said that “Kurti insists exclusively on recognising Kosovo's independence as the condition for holding the” elections.
“We need to recognise Kosovo so that Serbs can participate in the elections. Period. Nothing more and nothing less. And everyone in Serbia and Europe knows that. It is good that they will react to that, but we will have nothing from that reaction”, Vuciq said.
