Vuchy plays victim: Next year will officially try, eventually, to take Kosovo away from us.

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has continued to use his nationalist language on the eve of elections in Serbia. He has again focused on Kosovo, which he claims is part of Serbia.

In an interview for the newspaper Politika, Vuciq said he allegedly Western next year “will try to get Serbia to Kosovo”, Kosova Preris broadcasts.

I have no illusions that they will try to do it any way and at any cost, because they must end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, they do not need Putin or anyone else to refer to Kosovo, so they want to close that story as soon as possible. He has again claimed to face external pressure, aiming to keep most in Serbia as close as possible.

“For Serbia will be of great importance to preserving peace and stability at the internal level to continue with further economic progress, investments, large infrastructure projects, employment, rising wages and pensions, and to have enough strength to resist external pressures. The precondition for this is a stable majority and a government that will co-operate with President”, he has said.

He has also spoken of chapter 35 with the Ohrid Agreement, with which he reiterated that recognition of Kosovo does not come into account.

“I informed the entire local and international opinion of what does not come into consideration, which is recognition of Kosovo's independence in no way, nor membership in the United Nations and its agencies and organisations. Since they don't say they rule this out, but they want the whole deal, it's unacceptable to us. Whether they will or not, I can't guess at this moment”, Vuciq said.
