From Pristina International Airport “Adem Jashari”, indicate that in January there will be a large number of flights, and therefore there will be a greater number of travelers.

The increase in the number of flights seems to have also affected visa liberalisation, which will take effect from January 1st, 2024.

Pristina International Airport spokeswoman “Adem Jashari”, Valentina Gara, in a statement for Telegrafi said an increase in the number of flights is recorded almost every year.

Every year we have an increased flight number trend, so if we compare January 2023 to that of 2022 we've had 21.3% more passengers in 2023. The number of flights has also been increasing. As for the projections for January, we will have increases in the number of flights, as well as in number of travelers, because we are at holiday time and we will also be able to travel without visas”, she said.

Otherwise, visa liberalisation allows visa-free travel for short-term stays such as tourist or family visits several times within the year, as long as 90 days are not exceeded within 180 days.

To travel without visas you must:

Biometric password;

Witnessing the purpose of the journey;

Witnessing the position as hotel booking or the place to stay;

Travel details, including booking the return ticket;

If driving by car, needed car documents;

Evidence that you have enough financial means;

Visa liberalisation does not allow you employment, schooling or studies.

Also, in the event of eventual violations and abuse of visa-free travel, personal consequences include; the pronunciation of financial fines, official markings in your passport and file in which the violation in the Schengen system is found; and the ban on entry into the Schengen area up to 5 years.
