Threads, the new Facebook owner's app, Meta, has arrived in the European Union on Thursday, a few months after it was launched worldwide in July, Meta Executive Chief Mark Zuckerberg announced.

The new platform, which is part of the Instagram, allows people to register using their accounts in the Instagram.

Threads was founded deliberately to rival the social X network, once known as Twitter, after the latter angered many users and advertisers when it was bought by Elon Mück last year.

We're opening Thrads in more countries in Europe today. Welcome all of you to the”, Zuckerberg wrote on the Thrads.

Threeads was launched in 100 countries earlier this year, but not in the EU as well. Meta officials cited clarity about the regulator as the reason for the delay in the social network's arrival in Europe.

Meta has been under the EU regulatory microscope constantly, especially because of concerns about how he uses users' data to serve advertisers.

More than 100 million people had joined Threads within a week of its release to the market, without including those within the EU.

Meta said on Wednesday that people in the EU can now create profiles in Threads connected to their accounts at the Instagram, but can also use the non-profile app to search, distribute and even report content, as the company agreed to adhere to EU regulations.

They, however, cannot post or interact with the contents in Threads without being locked up with their Instagram account.
