Sperraer out, Ferizaj out: Reactions to the St. Kurt government gave no cents for several municipalities

The GAP Institute's analysis of budgetary divisions for 2024, which reveals that capital investments of Kurti Government are focused on municipalities leading the Vetevendosje party, have prompted many reactions.

But not just for this. But some municipalities, such as Sqahrewright, have been left with zero capital investments for the year 2024.

Chairman PDK, Memli Krasniqi, saysThis is the worst institutional discrimination against citizens since the liberation of our country”.

“As for the four municipalities led by the Vetevendosje Movement, the government has allocated more than half of the budget for new capital investments for 2024, for four municipalities led by the Democratic Party of Kosovo Democratic Party Ferizaj, Ssklandane, Kacanik and Elez Khan, has not been divided.

Gjilan, Zoom, Kamenica and Podujevo make up 11.6 % of Kosovo's population, while being split 59.5% of the budget for new capital investments.

Meanwhile, for all others, which are 88.4 % of the population, the Government has allocated only 40.5 %s of this budget.

This is the worst institutional discrimination against citizens in Kosovo's history since the liberation of our country.

Political culture in Kosovo needs to intensify and increase co-operation, not installing this culture of revenge and discrimination.

This approach of the Government against the citizens of municipalities, which does not lead the ruling party, is low political blackmail.

I also invite the deputies of Vetevendosje, along with those of the opposition, to fail to seal this discriminating proposal of government.

It is shameful and unacceptable to vote for such a budget”, writes Krasniqi in his Facebook account.

The AAK's Daut Haradinaj also received a harsh response asking that “are the taxpayers of municipalities where the government Vetevendosje does not equal taxpayers from other municipalities?”

If so, how can these same taxes benefit only the municipalities that are driven by the VV. But the state budget has left neither the father nor the Minister of Finance to share it as you do.

This is not only unacceptable but also immoral. Do not force citizens to refuse taxes and the State. Do not share this society even in the state budget, because it is not forgiven”, Haradinaj writes, follows Periscopi.

 E PDK Vice President Vlora Citaku, Says a municipality like Ferizaj, which pays close to 20% of taxes in all of Kosovo, has been left with zero investments.

“Imagine, Ferizaj, who pays close to 20% of taxes across Kosovo, creating tens of thousands of jobs, is sentenced by the Central Government to zero new capital investments.

Adem Jashar and KLA's freedom weekend is condemned to zero investments as well. Same with a bunch of other municipalities. Are the children of opposition towns of little value?

Are the deer and the Prizajans of hundreds of thousands of other citizens less important than those of the four VV municipalities where 60% of the new capital projects are going? Why are you dividing this people, or why you're continuing to divide them for years now?

No more divisions! Go. How much faster you go for nothing! That's what Periscope says.

Reactions even from civil society and Kosovo journalists

To journalist Freedom Mehmetaj, such discrimination for certain municipalities, in particular Squnerain, represents the fallout of this government.

Kosovo has 38 municipalities.

In the new capital investments coming from the Government of Kosovo, 59.5 percent of investments go to only four municipalities until there are only 40.5 percent in other municipalities.

The four municipalities that receive the bulk of the investment are the four municipalities led by the Vetevendosje Movement.

Some municipalities, such as the Scytheright (discreet) do not get a cent.

For example, if per capita the resident is counted, a citizen in the Increase is set aside 102 euros, until a citizen in Suhareka is 1 euro and 70 cents.

Of the 21m 876 thousand 833 euros (which is very little) more than 13 million go for only 4 municipalities led by Vetevendosje, while all other Kosovo municipalities are left with about 8 million and something.

These are mean people, you know.

Why do they commit such gross and open injustices?

For they don't eat dicks for citizens, neither do they feel threats, nor fear punishment.

But, the slaps that will be taken by citizens in the upcoming elections will be so heavy and so loud that it will be remembered as the historical footpost”writes Mehmetaj.

Kosovo Institute for Justice Director Ehat Miftaraj, Ironically, it's good that investments haven't gone to Norway.

“Do not complain that the 2024 budgetary division was not bad.

Now who is the Minister of Finance and Prime Minister?

They could have divided several tens of millions of Euros of social aid to elementary schools in Norway”, writes Miftaraj.
