The SPAK prosecutor, Arben Kraja, has officially called before the Council of Orders, Mandatas and Immmity, authorisation for the arrest of former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

At the meeting where Berisha himself is not present in parallel is holding a protest outside of the Parliament's environments, Kraja said there is a suspicion of committing the criminal act of corruption by the chief Democrat, at the time he was the country's prime minister.

“From the investigations is estimated that Berisha in the quality as prime minister in the next period 2005 has adopted decisions where the direct beneficiary was also his daughter's husband, Jamarber Malltezi”, the prosecutor determined.

He further predicted that active action has been taken by Berisha to make state structures available to Malltesi. The irregular benefits are all the monetary benefits that Jamarbe Malltezi has received, estimated at the amount of 5m euros. The benefits may be not only for themselves but also for others.

Therefore, on these premises, based on the law, the SPAK has addressed the JCKKO, demanding measures to be presented to the judicial police and the ban on exit by Berisha.

The court, meanwhile, reportedly accepted the prosecution's request.

“The Court of Appeals decided, among other things, to approve the decision of the First Court. Reference to the processes held by the judicial police officer, it turns out Berisha has not implemented the Court's decision to submit twice a month”.

Under these conditions, the SPAK has called for granting authorisation for Berisha's arrest as deputy, replacing the measure of obligation to appear before the judicial police officer in prison/house arrest.

Berisha himself, just minutes before the start of the meeting of the Mandata Council, has announced what he has labelled as the beginning of the postx0 duty without a return” on the streets of Tirana./albanian mail/
